I was surprised at this list myself, how many of these songs that I knew and had listened to, were actually cover versions, including one by Elvis Presley (Are You Lonesome Tonite) that was, in 1960, a cover of a song that was 33 years old then, and is almost a hundred now (1927). I'm aware of some he didn't cover, Like Taco's Puttin' On The Ritz which is a 1920s Irving Berlin song, or Gary Jules' "out of the park home run" cover of Tears For Fears Mad World.
