| I talk to her all the time and my new apartment is full of her pictures and stuff.
When we first met, she seemed to have a morbid fear of fire. Power strips had to be turned off when not in use, we unplugged the toaster when it wasn't in use, and on Valentine's day 2014, when we were in a cabin in Estes park and I had one of those duraflame logs in the fireplace, she absolutely couldn't go to sleep with it still on fire. It was weird, and years later, in 2019, I guess she read something or spoke to someone, but out of the blue she apologized for that. Fireplaces are safe, even with lit fires in them. Haha. I dunno why she suddenly decided to apologize. She was a very talented musician. We'd go to music stores to look around and get her sheet music, and she'd sit down at the grand pianos and just start playing. Nobody ever said, "hey get lost" because she obviously belonged there. I got her a new Yamaha keyboard in 2015 with weighted keys just like she liked, and she said, "you really do love me". :D She could play several instruments, and was working on the Cello most recently. But her pain issues and general depression kept her from practicing very much. Her most recent project was quilting, and she had quite a station set up in the living room. I took pictures of her working at it. Cut out the pieces, check her phone for the pattern she was following, sew a couple pieces together, iron them, hold it up, declare "FUCK!" and cut then apart again. Haha. But she was making progress. I was super proud of her and loved to be out with her when she was up for it. I miss her. |
