I'll buy a DRM-free game if it's only available on Steam by Mischief Maker 05/05/2021, 6:24pm PDT
List of known DRM-free games on Steam

So,

1. Devil May Cry 5

IT IS NO LONGER DRM-FREE! It was dumb fucking luck that I even stumbled across a mention in the GOG forums that they removed the Denuvo DRM from DMC5, and accidentally made the game playable without steam for about a month. I bought, DL'ed, and burned it to disk. When the Vergil DLC came out, it no longer ran without Steam.

While the cutscenes are no longer as gloriously insane as the ones from DMC3, in all other aspects this is the best game in the series, bar none. Not just a top-10 steam game for me, probably my #2 or #3 videogame of all time.

2. Clone Drone in the Danger Zone (Early Access)

Originally bought this DRM-free off itch.io, but they ended up abandoning the itch version for Steam.

Gonna hit 1.0 fairly soon. If you love 3rd person sword combat-style games, you'll love this.

3. Hades

I WAS WAITING for it to come out on GOG, but for whatever reason they're dragging their feet so I got the Steam version.

It lives up to the hype. And I don't normally like Supergiant games all that much.

4. ULTRAKILL (Early Access)

It's coming to GOG once it hits 1.0 around the end of the year. But I got impatient.

A spiritual sequel to Bulletstorm. It's an extremely high-mobility FPS with a Devil May Cry-style combo meter and a surprisingly deep technical depth that sees you doing things like shooting your own shotgun shells to trigger the explosive parry bonus.

5. Dominions 5: Warriors of the Faith

The greatest, most expansive 4X of all time, now with the ability to personally shape your God's blessings, allowing for even crazier combos. Yes, I believe my fire dragon will have the awe blessing so dudes need to pass a morale check to even attempt to lay a hand on him.

6. Approaching Infinity (Kinda Early Access)

I might have accidentally been the one to put the nail in this game's coffin during its time as a shrapnel games exclusive by complaining in the forums about the limited-number-of-installs DRM. The developer since got the rights back and is self-published through Steam. And since DRM was a major factor in its shrapnel failure, he's virulently against DRM of any kind in its current incarnation.

It's a Tales of Maj'Eyal-esque sci-fi roguelike that reminds me of the old Starflight games, complete with starship combat, planetary landings, and multiple faction-connected endings.

7. Danmaku Unlimited 3

A solid workhorse bullethell shmup. Above average all around, and it supports playing with your monitor in portrait mode for that extra arcadey feeling.

8. Super House of Dead Ninjas

I love Strider 2, and love in general games that focus on tearing through crowds of enemies at full speed without pause. Probably Adult Swim's greatest game, why did this never hit GOG?

Sadly not entirely DRM-free, if you play with steam off, it won't record your progress. But then all the crap you unlock just makes the game easier, so I just play it with the basic kit.

9. Immortal Defense

An indie darling from way back, now the most up-to-date builds are only available on Steam.

It's an abstract tower defense game with one of the best stories I've read in video gaming. It's probably the closest we'll ever get to a videogame adaptation of Aronofsky's The Fountain.

10. Cryotozookeeper

Thanks ICJ! I suck at text adventures so bad that the fixer's dog ate me, but I still appreciate it!
