The actual experience was a little freaky but they give you some anti-anxiety pills before-hand.
Immediately after it was done my vision was 90% better, just a some fuzziness around the edges. The next day it was almost perfect and then it improved a little more each day for a week or so.

I didn't have any lasting side effects, although I did experience them for several weeks (months? I don't remember) afterwards. The most notable being direct light sources looking like a fireworks explosion. Makes driving at night with oncoming headlights a treasure.
The whole procedure took maybe 15 minutes, and then they release you pretty much immediately. They jammed metal rings into my eye sockets to pop my eyes out (not literally pop them out, just push down the surrounding skin) and that was the most uncomfortable part. You'll also get the unique experience of knowing what melted eye smells like.
Thanks, fellas. Does it fix things so that you can see closely and far away? I'm losing clarity of vision in both cases and to be honest I care more about seeing things close up than in the distance. Like, if I could just get it so I could see things close up and had to wear glasses otherwise I would be fine.
