That reminds me... This series also included brainboxes and is sort of a pulpy read. Not brilliant like Dune or Illuminatus! or the Jesus Incident (that was the one ripped off for Alpha Centauri's plot, wasn't it?) but more fun... well, not more fun than Illuminatus. Not _so_ hard to find at second hand book stores. As for the dune series, I appear to be in the minority when I say that the forth book is good. I remember thinking it was better than 2 or 3, which sort of tread water in comparison to the first.
