Encased was pretty good altogether, feels a little light as you get toward the end but is there a CRPG that doesn't? Maybe the best Fallout-style game I've played in awhile. Also has a kind of interesting way of doing the 1 INT options where rather than being sub-verbal you're just a person with a lot of developmental problems.
Wrath of the Righteous is ok, it was a mess when I first played it and I still maintain that the entire game is balanced pretty poorly. It seems like most of the gameplay revolves around picking whatever feats or spells that are broken and carry more weight than they really should. However the story is great and you can adjust the difficulty at any time.
The entire Yakuza series is worth playing, however it's kind of weird because you'll go from a great combat system in 0 and Kiwami, to a sort of weird and not great one from Yakuza 6 in Kiwami 2 then back to old system in 3, 4, and 5. Still haven't played the latest one that is turn based.
I also played some early access SWAT spiritual successor called Ready or Not, it has a lot of people playing it because a few game blogs tried to give them bad press over a school shooting scenario in the game so people came out to vote with their dollars. It's pretty rough and the enemy AI is ridiculous but other than that it plays pretty well. You'd probably just be better off playing SWAT 4 Gold until they get a few more updates to it.
Oh and I played Gloomhaven which I just hated. Just something that should have stayed in tabletop land. |
