| The list of South African anti-apartheid activists who were assassinated or died in prison in the '80s was longer than any of our attention spans. Nelson Mandela was all over the news in 1990; everybody remembers that, some of us just got the details jumbled up with all the other news stories that had been coming out of South Africa for the past decade. Same thing with Gen X kids only half-paying attention to the onslaught of commercials for terrible Sinbad and Shaq vehicles in the early '90s. What do both of these paranormal phenomenons have in common? Cross-racial identification is hard, man!
The Fruit of the Loom cornucopia may have been real. I don't think we'll ever know the whole truth about that one. |
