I've recently read a bunch of stories from people on those sets that Bruce is clearly suffering from early dementia. That earpiece isn't because he's too lazy to bother reading the script. It's because he can't remember lines anymore. Stories that he confusing stage direction with lines, and starts speaking his stage direction out loud.
No one sure why he's doing tons of these movies in the first place. Theories that either he's trying to bank as much cash as possible to leave his (giant) family, or someone in his life is knowingly exploiting him.
