The combat is real time, which gave me an "oh, crap" moment when some coyotes descended upon my gal. But I liked that moment. I like games that try new things.

Here come the shit posters! One thing I hope I communicate to the rest of you is that I appreciate that you don't all post like rats talking about what games you won't be getting or playing. It is the opposite of conversation. I have no respect for any of these people at a popular PC gaming website:

It not being turn-based won't kill my interest entirely but I am confident it will make liking it a lot harder for me.

It ain't isometric, you can see the full 3d perspective in the screenshot in the article.

And if you think that's being pedantic, I put forward that it is merely being helpful.

Being pedantic would be pointing out that Fallout uses trimetric projection, and is also not isometric :)

This has nothing to do with liking the game, but I've started to see it posted on other forums. It is not acceptable. It is the "HR exists to protect the company" of gaming. It's something that autistic losers screech because they saw other people screech it. This thing even tries to stave off criticism to the worthlessness of its life. Ok, back to the rats. They're posting, they must be intere-- what? They are telling people they WON'T get a thing that tries something a little different??

No turnbased is indeed a deal breaker, which is a shame. I just find twin stick shooting inaccurate and unpleasant.

Too bad because the rest of the game sounds really interesting and fun.

I was really interested until the description of the combat, doesnt sound like it's for me. I dislike twin stick shooters, and had had enough of divinities endless elemental systems by the end.
Shame as the concept and ideas here seem genuinely original.
