From the same publisher as Hero's Hour.

It's a rougelike 4X game that I would describe as Thea (minus combat) meets FTL. You follow an FTL like path to the final area, and each area has you stop to play a 4X game where you have to gather resources to meet the payment requirement to advance to the next area. A countdown timer is going and a massive flood wave will destroy the area and kill you if you haven't moved on in time. You mostly start from scratch at each area, but your worker experience carries over and makes a huge difference. You can carry a very limited amount of resources (or buildings) over from the previous area with a Tetris inventory box.

There's a lot of promise in this formula, but jesus christ is the difficulty tuned to absolutely perfect play. You have to not waste a single turn or make a single mistake in improper long term worker development or you lose. Sometimes the RNG screws you even with perfect play. For crying out loud, it can spawn areas that do not contain the resources required to move to the next area! You can build a market to trade for resources that aren't present, but the exchange rates are so ridiculous that it's often not feasible. On top of that, a market requires a wild pack animal on the map which is also not guaranteed to spawn! Reach an area that doesn't contain the required resource and no pack animal? Absolutely impossible to continue no matter how perfect you were playing. Start over.

Even half of the tutorials are unbeatable unless you perfectly plan out every single turn with advanced knowledge! For fuck's sake, guys.

It's on sale until May 5 for only $8. That's probably worth it to dick around with for a bit but holy shit does the difficulty need tuning.
