| Feels like an early alpha.
Moop put it perfectly that everything feels like a placeholder. The characters, the enemies, the weapons, even the levels. The levels especially were strange in that they're trying to be these expansive and detailed environments, but they just feel lifeless. They obviously don't have close to the design talent that fleshed out the L4D levels. It also nearly melted my pc. I used to have this asshole who would smoke outside my apartment window until I asked him to stop. I honestly got up in the middle of the game to check if he was back because I thought I smelled it again. Turns out it was my computer! I've never had any game run my system anywhere close to this hot. One good thing is the perk system is fast and simple unlike Back 4 Blood. Unfortunately they're all inconsequential. Again, they feel like placeholders. Still needs lots of work before it's worth playing over L4D. Although it never actively annoyed me the way Back 4 Blood did. |
