Frostpunk, except if everything was happy and delightful instead of dour and depressing. In Early Access, but a small miracle already.

I'm now convinced that no colony sim is worth shit unless there is an overworld, a changing context, a larger picture at work. Frostpunk has the whole of Frostland to explore with scouts, as well as the ever-changing weather which dictates your strategy.

In The Wandering Village, the larger context is that you are riding on the back of a giant, irrepressibly adorable animal whose needs (and whims) determine the correct path to take. You can send him requests, but he is a big dumb idiot who just wants to sleep and eat and poop, so whether he pays attention to you is up to how you treat him.

Early Access, much to do, but absurdly well-made and if you don't fall in love that with that big dumb idiot in the first couple hours, I'll refund your money.

It sold 50,000 copies in the first two days, so I'm confident in its future.
