Fabrique Nationale: John M. Browning. John Motherfucking Browning... The .30 and .50 calibers dominated every aspect of WWII battlefields (Air/land/Sea) and without the BAR America would have had no squad machine gun. I was taught to shoot with a Hi-Power and no other handgun has ever felt more natural in my hands (except perhaps a 1911).

FN FAL is the pattern for the HK G-series of German service rifles (which I also get sentimental about) as well as well as several SiG rifles. Look at the AR-10,Eugene Stoner was also a fan. Although the Kalashnikov pattern can be found everywhere, I agree that almost every nation that does not have a billion dollar weapons research budget, probably has (or had) an FAL varient as a service rifle.

The P90 is pure porno, a shame it is not being adopted by more European special forces. NATO is probably going to opt for the HK MP-7 for the same role the P90 was intended for.

The F2000 is pure fucking George Lucas by the way. I would not want to face an moden army equiped with FN small arms.

America's answer to 21st century battle rifles? The OICW, Rifles that will cost a half million per unit to produce/maintain. Colt will be in the M-16 business for years to come.

Funny thing, I never shot anything besides a boy-scout .22LR bolt-action, and I sucked at that.

I just got interested in guns from realism gaming, to the point where I can look at a given M16, tell you which revision it is, the grain of the standard bullet said revision uses, the rifling twist necessary for said bullet, what the cross-section of the wound looks like and give you a rough guess based on distance-from-target as to the amount of fragmentation the round will probably experience.

The MP-7 is a fucking overpowered pistol that doubles as an underpowered assault rifle (or overpowered SMG, take your pick), which is all jackoffable, but you'll never see it pulling off the configs of a fully silenced P90 TR - with the triple picatinny rails you can mount laser, scope, flashlight - and on top of this a very kickass silencer and the subsonic SS109s . . . fuck - between that and the MP-7 I sure as hell know which one I'm pulling for if I have to walk into a dimly lit warehouse hostage situation, and my choice is going to leave H&K out in the fucking cold.

The OICW is such a great idea in theory but if I had the choice I'd pick an M-14 over it any day of the week. 20mm is underpowered, the electronics are just not there yet, and the rifle just looks awkward as fuck from the bulkiness of it all. Also the base 'rifle' is really just a COMPACT G36 - a fucking 5.56-chambered SMG. I've talked to soldiers in real life who've played with one, and I've read God only knows how many first-hand accounts online (admittedly it's THE INTERNET and you can't trust anything fully). I'd estimate 85% overwhelmingly negative and the rest mixed reviews. I've met a lot of soldiers who know considerably less than I do about the nitty-gritty technical details of the weapons they use, but every one I've talked to who'd touched the OICW knew at least enough about firearms to be very wary.
