He's supposed to be the perfect infiltrator, and yet he's the most conspicuously monstrous "human" you could imagine. I like to headcanon it so Terminators come in all different shapes and sizes, and the one we saw was just randomly large and ill-suited to his job. He was probably moving boxes or something outside the time machine room when Skynet had to grab someone to send back in time. Maybe it came down to him and another robot who looked like Robert Z'Dar?
