Copying over the system files isn't the issue. Windows maintains an enormous database of system settings that the installer has to tear apart and try to rebuild for a completely different OS. This almost never works without some errors. Even Microsoft recommends doing a clean install whenever possible.

Have you installed the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers?
