And I forgot to add this to my other reply. Dur. Anyway, I have the version that only has two IDE channels. I went ahead and updated the BIOS, and I've tried a few different combinations with the jumpers. I tried it as a Master with no slave (unplugged the CD-RW), I tried it as Cable Select with no slave, I tried it with a different cable, the one that it fucking CAME WITH, and then the drive couldn't even be detected. Ur? Okay, I put the old cable back. I remember at one point I had actually made it worse; instead of that "readprocessmemory" error I was getting "that program is not a valid win32 application" which is what the Sony had said about everything. I can't recall how I got it to suck that badly or how I fixed it now. It was getting pretty late by that point . . .
I don't think I checked the PnP OS setting. I'll look at that tonight. |
