Nobody remembers R.U.R. because Metropolis did it so much better. Just like nobody cares about We because 1984 buried it. Just like Zero Hour is a trivia question because Airplane! was the better comedy. Holy shit though that takes some major skimming to think that R.U.R. was in the category of "robots as racism", or really any underclass. It's about capitalist efficiency run amok to its logical conclusion of dumping capital as the most inefficient leech of them all with the same cold disregard as they dump labor. It's Skynet, not Bicentennial Man.
