Great movie! Directed by Don Siegel, who taught Clint Eastwood how to shoot pictures, and written by Star Trek's other Gene, L. Coon. Ostensibly based on a short story by Ernest Hemingway, I thought it had more in common with the classic incel noir Drive a Crooked Road. It was supposed to enter the public domain in 2021, but in lieu of that, a guy calling himself "Sartre" just uploaded a very nice 4K rip to 1337x dot to.
For a more faithful take on Hemingway's story, you could also watch the first act of The Killers (1946, Burt Lancaster's film debut), and then go ahead and watch the remaining acts too because they're fucking sweet. Sartre also made a pretty good copy of that one, but it's only 1080p. |
