Is this an argument? I'm confused. by laudablepuss 01/28/2003, 6:30pm PST

a game that was pretty much over by midway through the third quarter, a game in which one team's defense outscored the other's offense (for crying out loud), and a game which as far as I can remember lacked even ONE offensive play that can be described as memorable (saving Jerry Rice's impotent and somewhat routine-looking touchdown) is by definition NOT a good game.

Well I guess this conversation/argument/whatever is over! Congratulations, you've converted opinion into fact into axiom! You win! Now that you're victorious, can I trouble you to re-examine one thing that you said?

You are saying drama=close game=good. That's fine as far as it goes. But then you take that extra stupid step of saying that a game that doesn't feature offense=bad. You're the kind of know-nothing offense-worshipping shithead who should maybe not be participating in a football discussion in a football forum. Anyway, it's clear you're just a troll or an imbecile, so I'm not feeling a great urge to continue defending my opinion beyond reprinting what I said earlier. Here you go, faggot:

I despise the Raiders, they are ALWAYS the greater of any collection of evils. Watching them lose horribly in the Super Bowl felt almost as good as a Broncos win. The absolute BEST part was Gannon's last pass going the other way for six. What was he doing rushing up to the line at the end there? Trying to pad his pathetic stats? WTF was the point of that, other than to make me feel all warm and happy inside as the universe proved to be a great place afterall. I think he was blinking back tears at the end, which is just icing on the cake.

How about those sacks on three step drops? I was watching some analysis by Sean Salisbury and Sterling Sharpe and I was impressed. My favorite was when they showed Gannon pump faking to the left, but the safety didn't buy it and in fact cheated to the right! Then Gannon heaves it to the right, and the safety gets the pick. Combine that with John Lynch on the sideling saying, "They haven't run a single play so far that we didn't see in practice. It's unreal." and I have to think that Gruden had his Bucs fully briefed on every play in the Raider playbook. It was like taking candy from a baby wearing tinfoil.
