Step 1: install Modrinth
Step 2: create a Fabric or Neoforge instance (profile)
Step 3: get Sodium
Step 4: get Iris Shaders

THEN you can get shaders to work (like BSLshaders-Original which is what I'm using). The shaders option will appear in the video settings.

If you make a Forge instance, I dunno what you do there. Iris isn't available for that, and Optifine isn't listed in the Modrinth resources. Maybe you install Optifine on your own. As far as a Quilt instance goes, I haven't tested that guy yet.

If you have the above, and/ or some resource packs, you can still connect to vanilla MC servers. This is handy because I'm not playing Minecraft without shaders anymore. It's also handy because I'm starting up a Minecraft server in the next week or two.
