Closest comparison I can make it a simpler Void Bastards where instead of being a pirate, you're John McClane defending ships from pirates. Without looking, I could immediately tell this had to be the same people who did Gravity Bone. Pirates take over the ship. Take the crew hostage. You sneak your way around the ship, barefoot, to rescue them. Cut yourself stepping on broken glass, stop to patch up your feet. Crawl through vents. Primary means of taking out pirates is to get the drop on them (usually by placing a banana peel in their path or throwing pepper at them), leap on them, and steer them near a surface so you can mash the button and repeatedly bash them into something until their neck snaps. Seems sort of open ended where you can go and how you approach rescuing all the hostages. Not weird enough You're an anti-piracy commando required on all commercial ships by the insurance company. Kept frozen until the ship is boarded and you're thawed out. The ship is always boarded. Choose new contracts for new ships that will be boarded. Not weird enough Pirates have their heads pop off when they die, which float back to a respawn point that revives them. You have to pick up the head and carry it to a disposal point that will eject it into space like a toilet or garbage chute. Not weird enough You are human. The crews are entirely cats. Not weird enough Not cat people or cat aliens. Actual cats. Made of Minecraft blocks. Demo out now. Full game not until later this month. It might be too simple and get old real quick. I had fun with the 2 levels (1 tutorial).
