I thought this was funny.
StackOverflow activity down to 2008 numbers
All of the comments mirror my lone experience with the site. I answered a question with a new account, it got downvoted, I never went back to contribute in any form.
"I would sign up, spend 2 hours making a comment, get marked as fraud or spam. Looks like I got the last laugh bitch!"
"For real. 10 years ago I used SO a lot. Fucking hated it. Spent hours formatting a question. Getting it just right only to have it flagged or ignored for some pedantic reason."
Yep. And now you can ask any AI program your programming question, AND get a patient teacher that has just as much chance of being right about what you're asking it as some rando on the internet. Or ask it questions that you might search Wikipedia of (which has the same gatekeeping by nerds and power-hungry, sad desperate losers).
Anyone employed by Stack Overflow or Wikipedia who wants to keep their job should realize that it was time to get rid of the terrible community members destroying reputations 5 years ago. It's too late to save Stack Overflow and I kind of want to see Wikipedia die, so there you go. |
