| It's Puzzle Quest 1 HD, including two expansion packs that never (officially) came out for the original PC version.
It also has some balance tweaks that rendered my old broken strategies moot. I like that when no moves are possible the game no longer drains everyone's mana to zero, but instead distributes all the mana on the board to both opponents randomly. I'm still too early in the campaign to know if the biggest flaw of Puzzle Quest is still present: spell resistance. Specifically how in the late game, after the player does all the work to charge up a spell, it can just fizzle due to offscreen RNG. The original Puzzle Quest soundtrack is still great. There are new tracks in this version and they're kinda blah. Still, this is one of the best Match 3 games ever made, so if you're looking for a great solitaire-esque puzzle game to play while listening to podcasts this is an easy recommend. |
