| This is an older game, but the graphics are pretty great and my video card can handle it without breaking a sweat. You're in an airplane at the start and it inconveniently and very loudly crashes while you're TRYING to drink your coffee. You of course survive, but you find yourself in THE FOREST which is inhabited by some really alarming cannibals and monsters. Like, these guys are legit creepy.
Highlights so far: My niece set up a few deadfalls and other traps around our camp. I was beating a cannibal to death with my axe (it takes awhile, maybe my guy is actually as strong as I am), and I was so focused on maintaining stun lock on her that I didn't even notice I was driving her back into one until SPLAT. Exploring a cave and finding the chainsaw. Because of course there's a chainsaw. A group of cannibals, like 6 or 7, all getting blown up by my niece's grenade. It was great, they acted like they'd never seen one before -- very awesome AI moment there. Anyway, it's survival/ horror so if you're bored with that, you'll be bored with this. But I missed it when it came out and I'm enjoying it. There's a real mystery to solve here as well. As with all of these types of games, make sure to turn the lights down and try to get into the mood. |
