BUT VAGUELY ALLURING

Mystical Stone Entertainment will be hosting a two and a half hour musical event for video game fans on May 16th, the last day of E3 2003. Featuring a 90-piece orchestral symphony, 40-person choir, rock concert, stage show, and celebrity participation, "Video Games Live At The Hollywood Bowl" shouldn't be missed by fans of video game music.

The event's 18 musical segments will be aired on Pay-Per-View, with releases on CD and DVD to come. According to Tommy Tallarico, executive producer of Mystical Stone, "the video game industry has been craving an event like this and the initial response has been overwhelmingly supportive." A turnout of 18,000 fans is expected for the event. Look for us there.

I don't get it. How can they conceal -- for FOUR HOURS, no less -- that the genre is nothing but hacked-up classical and twelve-second chunks of looped MIDI? And what's the choir's job?

Having not heard the Tallarico backstory, I surfed on over to his homepage and was relieved to find the universal hallmark of inter-tards, a nonsensical collage. From there, it's mostly standard retard fare, but I'll admit that a virtual house tour given through a telephoto lens is a novel twist (and extremely virtual).

Ray!
