Smoooooooooooooooth.
I didn't like the original Super Meat Boy. I thought it was well made, but even though I got through most of it I never felt like I was getting better at it and instead was just flubbing my way through it. I enjoyed this demo and it made me feel like I won't just be completing a level through blind luck. I don't know why. It's a perfect replication of Super Meat Boy but in a 3D platforming space. The same floaty but precise movement, the emphasis on speedrunning, the short, white-knuckling level design. The demo is only a dozen levels or so, maybe it'll turn into what I didn't like in later levels. So far, so good, though.
If you liked Super Meat Boy, I can't see how you wouldn't like this. The demo took me 15 minutes to complete. Also, when you get into the game change the graphics settings to max out the rendering resolution. No idea why but all of the settings were set to max except for that, and it made the game really blurry. |
