...which is not a coincidence because all three of those directors (Jordan Peele, Zach Cregger, Curry Barker) are sketch comedians-turned-horror directors.
The things that set Obsession maybe above a lot of similar movies is that A: it's unusually well-made, especially for a tiny indie movie that was made for less than a million bucks, B: it's a little stickier than average, kind of like Weapons, because of the subject matter and the sort of, I dunno, allegorical payload(?) and C: Inde Navarrette's incredible performance.
(I also think Michael Johnston did a good job of portraying a protagonist who is a sad sack loser that SPOILER BELOW:
