Help me out, folks! Here's the situation:
I'm in college in a small college town and my long-distance girlfriend just left me. I'm smarter than everyone else in this whole town, so smart in fact that I refuse to be locked into a "major" or be trapped by any "plans" I might have to stick to once I graduate. The trouble is, I have no idea what I want to do. My girl left me for a wrestler, so I was thinking about going into pro wrestling (NOT FOR THAT REASON, I WAS GONNA DO THAT ALREADY) but that's like a big commitment and besides I only weigh 130 pounds.
I hear Starbucks has pretty good bennies, and that would leave me lots of time to work on my website, but I also really don't have anything to put on the web, yet, so I wonder what the point of that would be.
I'm kind of techie, but not TOO techie, and I don't know if I could spend all day installing shit in other people's computers because, well, basically I hate people. Besides, I would probably have to wear some sort of store shirt, or at least clothes, and I don't really want to be tied down to anything like that. I honestly believe I can do anything I set my mind to, and better than anyone else in the world, but that feeling has left me inert and unable to become interested in doing anything at all. I was thinking I could code up a groundbreaking video game or invent an artificial heart and cell-regenerating nanobots that would allow humans to live forever (or at least indefinitely), but I doubt I could get the funding for that right now.
My last aptitude test said I would be good in a leadership capactity, but my fundamental misanthropy combined with my fear of stepping outside my apartment makes that scenario unlikely until I can run a company via telecommuting (or telepathy!!).
Anyone have any ideas? The things I truly enjoy doing include: posting on message boards, coming up with really cool game and/or technology ideas, role-playing (used to, anyway, haven't done that in a while), and posting on message boards. |
