Make sure you include something about how my fucking battleships can be taken out by 5 dudes with bows and arrows. Fuck CivIII for toying with my emotions.


Well, you should not have been able to attack them anyway. You should only have been able to bombard and they would not be able to strike back. Considering the AI doesn't do railroad artillery, you can shell a coast with impunity until flight. I'm going to assume you mean you lost a regular battleship to something like a veteran or elite ironclad. Bearing in mind that ironclads represent every iron and steel pre-dreadnought warhip in the game, this isn't that crazy.

I have complaints, but overall I like it. The biggest problem is you are simply *required* to mod for some things to be tolerable, i.e. - the Battleship problem; which manifests itself as spearmen taking out my panzers. I also find it strange that ships can only attack once a turn. Just give them all blitz ability and its CivII all over again. Yes, I miss unit firepower (though firepower is still there for bombardment units, even though the AI seldom uses them) and HP (which is still there in the form of unit rankings), but the way the units are used has changed enough that they aren't as necessary anymore. People who wanted CivII++ should kazaa a copy of CivII:Test of Time and mod the hell out of it.
