Good stuff to know.
My link was more to counter the cartoon link. However, I don't reall see what the issue is with warning journalists that they may be bombed if they set up a transmitter. Shutting down enemy coms is very very important. If a journal is going to set up a satelite uplink, he should know that he is doing it at his own risk.
In Gulf War I we took the time to distinguish friend from foe before ordering a strike on the transmitter. This time all uncontrolled sources of information are viewed as hostile - I'm sorry, and I hate hate hate to use this word but that qualifies for the 'Orwellian' category.
