| Electroclash Mix by Larry Tee
I was actually at Club Luxx in Williamsburg through some kind of mistake - I'm certainly not any kind of clubber and I felt very out of place at their Berliniamsburg shindig on Saturday nights - untucked plaid shirts are not exactly what the locals wear. Anyways, although I hated the club kids, the music was great, and I've been asking around in the weeks since trying to track down the musical style they're playing there. Well, lucky me, they actually put the best tunes out on a big 2-cd comp (which is still $15 new at Virgin Megastore). Choice tracks: Satisfaction by Benny B, Supermodels Inc. by Larry Tee hisself, Hate Fuck by Mount Sims, and Sexy Mind by Prance. Also the W.I.T. track is awesomely terrible. W.I.T. is the band that heard Blondie's song "Rapture" and thought it was really cool. It reminds me of my silver-lame' wearing girlfriend from back in the day. This shit is great. It reminds me of hearing Nitzer Ebb and Meat Beat Manifesto for the first time back in like 1988. Storm The Studio. Let Your Body Learn. (Actually, on of the tracks is a sort of cover of "Join In The Chant.") Lofi electronic dance music. FoK |
