What I want to know: are Rumsfeld's cronies now declaring the next war(s)? Syria, Egypt, Iran...sounds great!
This thing was always about Saudi. Rumsfeld's people drew from the same Reagan doctrine that is the reason you live in an unoccupied united Germany. The other side is reactionary, as in, "don't do anything and hope no one ever slams jets into our skyscrapers, then if they do, launch cruise missiles ineffectively into a desert and bomb Bosnia."
You know, once upon a time people were delighted that the US had the most advanced and powerful war machine on the planet. Now the consensus seems to be we should let it atrophy while the rest of the world catches up and marginalizes the US. You will of course understand that some of our leaders do not agree with that point of view.
It also sends a clear message to all rogue states: get nuclear or get busted. Getting nuclear only invites the US in. Preventing the propapagtion of WMD is one of Rumsie's warcrys, Look for the CIA to sell you Nukes only so that the 101st can love you long time. We didn't get this way being stupid foog, just evil. |
