| If you knew not to do this already, don't bother with the rest of this post.
OK, the rest of you - in the event of a spamming, the first thing we do is check IPs on a range of posts (the spam), ban them, THEN remove the posts, THEN do followup work - making sure that everything is as it should be, the right IP ranges are banned, checking to see if this IP had alternate pseudonyms, etc. If you respond to spam, your posts will definitely and potentially your IP might accidentally get taken with it. We work hard to prevent this kind of shit but it does happen. If I make a huge mistake, email senor-barborito@zombieworld.com to let me know. Someone whom I like a lot responded to a spammer with their spam inlined tonight, and damned nearly might have gotten taken with them if I hadn't gone the extra mile in followup work and done a bunch of crosschecks - which I do not always have time to do.
