Flame war note: the phrase "I regret that I ever learned how to read" is a powerful insult that is guaranteed to cut your opponent to the quick. Use it often.
Coincidentally, my brother had an exchange with Woody over this very thing. I was not aware of this until today. Here is their exchange:

Denver will finish,7-9, 9-7 at best. Lelie is a bust, McCaffery can't play 1 quarter without being helped off the field and the defense still stinks. And Plummer? Good Luck. Shanahan has no business running a draft, and I'm sure he'll screw Clinton Portis at some point and name Mike Anderson the starter.
I know you are just joking with that 16-0 article anyhow

In response to your column on moronic readers who questioned an undefeated Broncos season-
If you are going to rip on your readers for grammar, you should at least spell check your own e-mails Shakespeare.
Where the hell did he get that crap about McCaffery? And how can he tell that Lelie is a bust? Also, the thing about Clinton Portis not starting is just making stuff up to support his argument. Lame.
As they say, that's why they play the game. Also: talk is cheap, etc. I'm waiting to see how our defense performs with a new defensive coordinator before I declare the defense a bust.
My favorite Paige response to angry readers (who in this particular case had threatened to kill him or wished he would die) was: "Why would you want to kill me? The Post would just go to the nearest bus stop and get another sports writer to replace me." Or words to that effect. |
