Lulu became mad useless for me about 2/3'rds of the way through the game. Once the entire grid system opens up for your characters, anyone can learn any spell and with her higher magic rating, Yuni takes over as your best mage. Yuni casting holy (or better yet, doublecasting ultima) = ownage.
