Or not. by Lizard_King 05/27/2003, 3:37am PDT But I do think that putting MM in the category of something that is only worthwhile as long as it shocks does something of a disservice to the actual music he has produced...which is actually a lot more substantive than it is given credit for. Now, a lot of that is due as much to Manson's own media exposure, but a good amount of it still comes from the desire of people to simply pigeonhole things they don't understand into the same group of things that don't matter. Plus I saw them in concert, and if completely recreating a fascist violence rally in the name of free speech and musical creativity is wholly unoriginal, then at the very least MM does it extremely competently.
