A few years ago, a fat pretentious cross-dressing high school student wrote lyrics for a double concept album based on his life called "Struggle and Fall." Over the course of 30 songs, he outlined a picture of whiny teen angst that has yet to be surpassed. These songs, completely lacking in rhyme, meter, or structure, have been begging for someone to record them for years.
Joshua Beane's magnum opus, the concept album known as Struggle and Fall (see here for details) has finally been realized, by a cast of nearly 30 different bands. Each band chose a song and recorded it in the musical style they felt was most appropriate, paying careful attention to the Dragonguyver's instructions. No lyrics were added - each word that you hear is the Voice of Beane, unfiltered (although some artists made slight rearrangements for ease in songwriting). The official page for the album here, although it is still in progress. Soon, all the lyrics and information about the bands will be there. You can order a copy of this 30-song, 100+minute double CD with 12-page booklet here for $20 including shipping. As with my other projects of this nature, all profits from the sale of these albums will be donated to Joshua Beane, the Dragonguyver, and a full statement of accounting will be provided.
Finally, to whet your appetite, here's a short medley of a few of the songs. I am super proud of everybody who participated (including PoE's own Alienjack, Kid Panic, JSP, Nick C, No-Doz, Townleybomb and more) - your contributors copies will start going out next week. This project was a ton of fun and the final result is incredible. I hope you like it.
