Bewm. Remember a while back before the war I said it was primarily about oil and crunched those amounts of DoE and OPEC statistics to prove that was the case? For those of you not understanding, Wolfowitz is Rummy's right-hand man within the State Department, which is the Department responsible for the war we were just in despite some very loud protests of both the military and intelligence sectors of our government (oh yeah, and a few hundred thousand liberals marching in Washington with giant 'no war for oil' signs, but I digress . . .)
It's nice to have the administration come out and admit I was right from the start. I still expect them to find a LITTLE something in the way of WMD in Iraq - a token smoking gun - but nothing like what we were promised. Fuck you General Franks (the biggest holder of oil company stock within the administration, and the man chosen to help administrate Iraq - but wasn't he just let go?), fuck you Dick Cheney, fuck you Donald Rumsfield, and fuck you Tony Blair - you fuckers lied to the entire Western world and I completely fucking called it and now the sole author of the the Perle-Wolfowitz doctrine still with the government (Perle resigned not long ago under some pretty nasty circumstances) is admitting it to everyone.
Bush will survive this with barely a scratch, of course, but I think this will sink Blair once and for all. I'd bet on open revolt by Britain's Labour PMs over this. Long-term I think we're looking at a more France-friendly Britain for the next few years at least, which might be enough to scrap our good ties forever (as they're at a critical juncture in meshing with the EU right now).
