| What I realize now, after the movie, was that Jack Sparrow PLANNED to steal the gold from the chest specifically because he realized he could never beat Barborosa without becoming immortal himself. So he turned himself into one of the immortal zombies and THEN fought him right up until none of them were immortal any longer at which point he killed him in the blink of an eye.
Didn't quite get that at first, what a smart little fucker. Thinking back the only thing he DIDN'T plan was for the Black Pearl's crew to stop fighting once they turned 'real' again. That was why he was back getting hung at the end at all - once those two crews more or less killed each other off HE would be left as commodore. --SB |
