Hmm. All the recording I've dealt with has been either dubbed in post in the studio or done with sync. So, I haven't used anything like what you're asking. Does the camera have an RCA input or a miniplug input? Or does it have an XLR? If it has an XLR input, there are a lot of good options for under $200. If it doesn't, you'll need an adapter, or a ghetto microphone.
(RCA inputs= the kind on the back of your VCR. Miniplug=The kind on a discman. XLR=circular with three posts/female counterpart of same).
Like I said, somebody else might have more experience in this area, but for what it's worth Shure seems to have a decent mic for under $200 - you can't do wrong with Shure, they're the Fender of the microphone industry. I looked at Sennheisers too, but most of those seem to be in the $300+ range. |
