| so much as it is how hard it is to look at Cheney in any light OTHER than a war profiteer for the next thirty seconds after reading it.
I mean, as I wrote about in our back-and-forth on the justification and ease of predicting lack of WMD beforehand in the Iraq war - while I picked up the meme a few times here and there the whole 'no war for oil' was never my big rallying cry. My bit was always 'no war for radical right special-interest groups bent on the second Crusade as foreign policy.' Stuff like this makes it seem more like both were pretty accurate, which I find disturbing - I honestly thought the 'no war for oil' cry was just something used to stir the prols to protest. --SB |
