In addition to redefining rock music, the Pixies also redefine the (almost) word "alright." Caribou is one of the greatest lyrics ever, and I think you dislike Where Is My Mind because everyone knows it. Like Here Comes Your Man. I agree with everything else you've said, and would add "Tame" as one of the most dead-on songs about anything ever written.

I like the verse lyrics of Caribou but the whole screaming "REEEEEEEPEEEEEEENT!" thing is a turnoff - that's the kind of thing a cheezy goth metal band would do.
I don't love "Where Is My Mind" (and I do like it, just don't love it) because everyone likes it and I'm tragically misunderstood so that's how it has to be.
Love Here Comes Your Man. That's great all the way through, and introduced me to Velvet Underground.
