And how. They could seriously go 0-16 this season.

The Niners played really hard against the Saints. Hell, they would have won it if not for an unforced error on a handoff, and those things are very, very rare. I think a team has to be severely disinterested and really want their coach fired in order to go 0-16 at this point. My brother is a Seahawks fan, so his rantings about Erickson have colored my perception, but even Bellichick sucked in Cleveland, so perhaps he's learned something and if given a modicum of talent, won't underachived like he did in Seattle. You guys need to draft well in the next couple of seasons, though.

On the other hand, Haslett stupidly went for two late in the game against the Rams. He has done this many times. It has never worked out for him. When is he going to learn you get the fucking points when you're ahead and deal with the two-point shit when coming from behind? The game ultimately went to OT and he won it. Aces! But Carney's last field goal in regulation should have had them up by one if he had coached sanely. And don't get me wrong, if this two-point PAT early thing had worked at all in the last three years I could see why he would still do it. But he's quite insane regarding this.

Lately I have grown rather sick of ESPN.com columnist Bill Simmons, but he made a good point about bad coaches that applies to Haslett -- you never watch a Saints game and think, "Wow, the team really is firing on all cylinders, what a well-oiled machine." Instead you think, "Here's a guy who survived getting his head guillotined off off for one more week."
