This is a game that has to be played on hard. On easy, your clones can pretty much just walk through the entire game without positions or grenades and just revive themselves. For a game that's biting Battlezone's position-marker-on-the-floor-and-tactic-icon style, they don't seemed to have learned anything from Battlezone.
SPOILERRRRRRRRRRRSSSSSSS
And even if you do finish it, there's no actual ending. You think there'd be some massive boss or Jedi knight or something. No. One of your guys gets captured and you're ordered not to rescue him. And then your holo-captain tells you about the next mission and the credits roll. That's it. I know every FPS besides FarCry needs to have a giant cliffhanger now to justify a sequel, but Jesus Christ. Game sequels take years to release. Even though I was totally pumped by the end of Half Life, I'd pretty much forgotten about it by Half Life 2. And right now? I can't even remember what the aliens were called in HL2, and I just barely remember wanting to actually see one and figure out how the suit controls the fucking space-time continuum. |
