Meh. I haven't really "left", so much as I just don't post much. Too much drama revolving around the always-inscrutable Creexul for me to deal with.

Anyway, I daresay that any Sega NHL from 2K3 on up is great. 2K4 and 2K5 offer seemingly nothing but superficial improvements (you can unlock bobbleheads!), but they certainly aren't a step back from 2K3 in terms of pure gameplay. And while I thought it was all too easy to find exploits in each EA Sports game (stopped playing them circa NHL 2003, or whichever one was the first to be transformed from a hockey game into an awful platform for that one horrible comedian-wannabe on color commentary), I have yet to find a reliable one in Sega's games.
