Okay so my problem is that I now I more BitTorrent trackers in my bookmarks page than anything - even yaoi manga! And I keep running into more stuff that sounds cool enough to rate a download. Over at the Pirate Bay there's a guy uploading dozens of blues, rock, psychedelic rock, garage rock, and prog rock albums from 1965-1975, and Rush EPs (2004); at Oink there's a guy putting up rare Netherlandian gabber vinyl singles; at the Public Morning Musume tracker there is always more disco-amped glitter-coated Japanese and Korean pop than I could possibly keep track of; someone at Pedro's is putting up every Primus album and I can't for the life of me find the game OST to the first Zone of the Enders game.
This wouldn't be too much of a problem except something has to REALLY REALLY SUCK before I'll delete it. Example: album of French hip hop which, with the exception of being in French, is so boringly average that it doesn't even merit description. And I'm only thinking about deleting it. I still haven't deleted the Celtic Songs Of Middle Earth album that I know absolutely for a fact will only sit ominously in the "incoming/sort folder" directory and wait for me to work up the balls to cut the cord. I have 17 or so Dir En Grey albums and singles collections and I don't even LIKE Dir En Grey.
And I'm running out of room on the 100 gig drive on which the music folder resides.
Fast.
The obvious answer is to at least burn obvious shite onto CDs or DVDs and forget about it. But...but.... I need some kind of algorithm, or at least a heuristic, for determining what I actually could stand to take out of my overflowing coffers. Alternately, I could just download LESS, but I'm only now coming out of a three year period of failing utterly to find any music at all that I liked aside from Zetsuai and Weiss Kreuz albums (which are crap but fun, durable, melodic crap at least.) Seriously, last year's musical high point was discovering that Midnite Vultures was a pretty good album for being in English and not sung by cartoon characters. (Interestingly, almost none of this year's anime releases intrigue me in the slightest. Downloaded Mezzo DSA and Paranoid Agent and Yugo The Negotiator, watched almost none of them. That's it for the YTD.)
Anyway some tips n tricks from other compulsive downloaders would be welcome. |
