Since we're sharing, here's my sitrep:

Back in the olden days I worked for a subsidiary in Toronto - That was back in the time when CP and I met Fabio at Poecon (or Poecon2, can't recall). That was my first experience with America. Of course as a child I had the trip to Disney in Orlando, parents' friends in Georgia and Wisconsin, but I was too young to remember. This is important to note as it was my first time in PA - nice country up there. Since then I married my long-time GF and long-time fiance about 2 years ago.
Fast-forward to now and I've since been living in the Miami area for the last two years+. The US parent sponsored little lowly me for my MCSE and MCDBA, then transferred me down to the parent company here in Miami. In the two years I've been here I worked on an enterprise forecast application (Demantra) and learned Oracle PL/SQL. After that I switched to supply chain and have since been promoted a few times to Supply Chain Project Manager working on the corporate RFID implementation project (presenting to Wal-Mart this Thursday, woohoo). After that about 4 months ago I was promoted to Director of Global Purchasing & SG&A with fourteen direct-reports. My company itself is in relatively rough shape though so I've been looking to get out. I had two phone interviews with a great company last week and yesterday they made arrangements to fly me up for the final interview. This would be a great promotion, more cash and help up my ManagementXP stat. I fly up Tuesday AM and have a battery of 6 interviews with their sales VP, supply chain VP and other managers - fun stuff. This is where I tie back to PA - The job is outside Philadelphia.
The other proverbial bomb I have to drop is that my wife and I are expecting our first child in February. Oct5 we find out the sex. The wife has been unhappy down here and hasn't made too many friends as she's an RN and works with a lot of older women. She works long hours and doesn't get a chance to meet people her age much. Outside Phillie would mean that we're an eight-hour drive from Toronto so she could visit friends, we could visit my sister's family, they could visit us, etc. Also I get the fuck out of hurricane alley (Katrina's pass across Florida took her Cat1 ass right over us) and can actually buy a nice house for 400K. Down here in Miami currently 400K buys you a hovel. I don't know if you're ever truly ready but I surely don't feel ready to be a father.

Fun fact: I also used |bomb here for a bit.

What a long (well, 2+ years) strange trip it's been.

Ah well, I guess that's enough sharing for now. That's two OMM/CTPS trading cards that are filled in now. Wish me luck on Tuesday.
