The Captain gets run-through at one point and is like, "SURPRISE! I had all my blood removed during the war!"
No, this isn't what happens. The ninja puts a paralysis move on him by punching his nerve cluster. They show the same move in the first 10 minutes to help you understand what's going on. Cap sustained damage to those nerves in the war and had to have them moved somewhere else in his body.
My version is better. He had nerves moved, sure sure. That makes the sword-through-the-gut thing make sense.
I saw Serenity tonight and enjoyed it all over the place. My one complaint concerns the "important" ending that made you feel bad for enjoying the funny swashbuckling that defined the rest of the movie. At my screening, everyone left the theater in a somber mood that was totally unnecessary.
Other than that bit with the sword, I loved it. I didn't even mind the ending, although my friend who saw the TV show thought it a bit senseless that they'd kill off two crew members like that. (The old black guy was apparently a crew member in the show.) |
