Current mood: horny
Current music: THE SONY STRAW HAS BEEN PLUCKED FOR YOU :(
DERISIVE YUX
I found on suprnova the Metallica video for "Turn the Page." Oh yeah and it says it's "uncensored," not that I know what that means (oh wait there's gross nudity of this fat skank). I don't know if I ever mentioned that here, but it's the one that has a "story" to it (OOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!) about a 30 something single mom who is a stripper to try to support her children. As the song plays it shows Metallica looking gruff, and scenes of the moom taking care of her daughter in various motels of skank. The colors are washed out with uneven amounts of green for maximum edginess, and the band's sound is washed out to be less threatening to mainstream audiences. The music is occasionally interrupted for scenes of the moom in fow documentary type footage rationalizing why she is a stripper. The video is 5 minutes because 3 minutes is too short to contain such importance.
It's like the most pretentious thing ever. The first time I saw it, years ago, I was totally flying on the crazy weeds, and it happened to be on at like 1 in the morning on MTV. And even being super buzzed, I thought it was fuckdiculous.
BONUS UPDATE: I brought myself to actually watch all the way to the end (which took a little bit of skipping here and there), and the last sequence has the song dunting AND PLUGGING IN AND JUST ROCKING WHILE TOM CRUISE STANDS BY APPROVINGLY GIVING A THUMBS UP and in it the moom is whoring herself out and takes a trick back to the motel room-o-skank while the daughter sleeps in the closet or bathroom, and the guy suddenly gets rough with her and starts slapping her around and then flips her over, then gives her another 5 across the eyes for good measure, and as he's putting on his clothes, he throws the balled-up money at her. Jsoh and I realized (agreefully) that this is all a big metaphor for how Metallica thinks their fans treat them.
The video is like 30 megs if you want me to send it to you. |
