What exactly should you do in a situation like this?

I walked into the store, grabbed a cart, wheeled it up to the first aisle then paused to take my list out of my pocket. I scanned the list and, without looking, reached over for the handle of the cart and missed. Still looking at my list, I reached further and still got nothing. I looked over to see an attractive middle-aged woman pulling the cart towards herself and plunking her little girl down into the seat.

What in Hell are you supposed to say when something like that happens?

I said, ''that's my cart'' without even thinking about it. She smilled and said ''sorry, dude.'' then adjusted her purse on her shoulder and walked away with the cart.

Her son, who looked to be about eleven or twelve, smirked and when he turned to walk away flipped me the bird behind his back.
